Work in Progress - Whats shaping you?

We are all a work in progress! No matter where we are in life, God is shaping, refining, and strengthening us. He’s doing something in us so that He can do something through us. The question is: What foundation are we building on?

Jesus paints a vivid picture in Matthew 7:24-27 of two builders—one wise, one foolish. The wise builder constructs his house on solid rock, while the foolish one builds on shifting sand. The storms of life come to both, but only one house stands. This series, Work in Progress, is all about making sure our lives are built on the unshakable foundation of God’s Word.
Michelangelo once said that when he sculpted, he simply removed everything that didn’t look like the masterpiece inside. That’s exactly what God does in our lives. He’s chiseling away what doesn’t belong, shaping us into the image of Christ. Philippians 2:12 urges us to “continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.” This isn’t about earning salvation—it’s about daily surrender, allowing God to refine us.

WHAT IS OUR FOUNDATION?

2 Timothy 3:16-17 says Scripture is “God-breathed” and equips us for every good work. If we build on His Word, we are anchored in truth and prepared for the storms of life.
Can we trust the Bible? Absolutely. It’s not just a collection of ancient writings—it’s the living, breathing Word of God.

The Bible was written over the course of 1,600 years by 40 authors on 3 continents in 3 languages—yet it tells one unified story: Jesus. The Dead Sea Scrolls prove the accuracy of biblical transmission over thousands of years. The Bible prophesied historical events hundreds of years before they happened—like Isaiah naming King Cyrus 150 years before he ruled (Isaiah 44:28). With a 100% track record of fulfilled prophecy, the Bible isn’t just trustworthy—it’s supernatural.

GOD HAS MORE FOR YOU!

God is still working! He’s calling us to know Him, find community, discover purpose, and make a difference. Spiritual growth isn’t about perfection—it’s about progress. Like Michael Jordan being cut from his high school team before becoming a legend, setbacks don’t define us. As we learn the Word, live the Word, and teach the Word, we become the masterpiece God intended.

This Sunday at Dreamer’s Church, we’re diving deeper into Work in Progress. Bring a friend who needs encouragement. Let’s build our lives on the rock-solid foundation of Jesus—one step at a time.
