Living with Kingdom Anticipation: The Story Begins

Introduction to Kingdom Anticipation
Jesus passionately taught people to live with Kingdom anticipation—a vibrant expectation that God is actively working in our lives today. This mindset isn't about merely waiting for eternity; it's about embracing God's Kingdom here and now, stepping into His story, and living out His purpose.

Where It All Began

Genesis 1:27-28 sets the stage for the Kingdom story:
"So God created mankind in his own image... God blessed them and said, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.’”

From the beginning, humanity was called to reflect God’s character, carry His authority, and walk in His purposes. This passage reminds us that we were made to reign, to cultivate, and to bring God’s Kingdom to every corner of creation.

What Is Kingdom Anticipation?

Kingdom anticipation is about confidently living with the awareness that God is moving in our midst. It’s rooted in faith, expecting God's promises to unfold here on earth:
  • King - Creator (Relationship): We are made in His image (Selem) to have a relationship with our Creator. Gen 1:27-28 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness,
  • Kingdom Culture (Character): We embody His likeness (Demut), reflecting His values, beliefs, and actions. Gen 1:27-28 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness,
  • Kingdom Citizenship (Function): We are entrusted with stewardship and called to represent Him as His ambassadors. Gen 1:27-28 so that they may rule over the fish, birds, over all the creatures”
  • Kingdom Call – (Reproduction/Ambassadors): We’ve been given an assignment to represent the King on Earth. Gen 1:28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

Why It Matters Today

Jesus taught in Luke 17:21, “The kingdom of God is in your midst.” This truth changes how we live. We’re not waiting for something distant—we’re participating in the Kingdom today! Through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, He restored what was lost in the Garden of Eden (Colossians 1:13-14).

Living It Out

When we live with Kingdom anticipation, we embrace our role in God’s story:
  • Be fruitful: Build a life that reflects God’s abundance.
  • Increase: Maximize your potential
  • Multiply: Share His love with others.
  • Subdue: Steward and care for what He’s entrusted to us.

This Sunday, (9:30 AM & 11:30 AM) join us as we unpack what it means to reign in life through Jesus Christ. Bring a friend who needs to hear that God’s Kingdom is alive and active today!
