INSIDE OUT
INSIDE OUT | What’s on the INSIDE will shape your destiny!
We live in a world that measures success by what people see on the outside—the job title, the appearance, the social following. But here’s the truth: the Christian life is not built from the outside in. It is built by the transforming power of the Holy Spirit working from the inside out.
We live in a world that measures success by what people see on the outside—the job title, the appearance, the social following. But here’s the truth: the Christian life is not built from the outside in. It is built by the transforming power of the Holy Spirit working from the inside out.
The Kingdom principle is this: new life in Christ is not sustained by our effort, but by daily dependence on the Spirit who fills, empowers, and leads us. Without Him, our faith becomes routine and powerless. But with Him, our lives become purposeful, difference-making, and Kingdom-impacting.
As Romans 14:17 reminds us, “The Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
This is why our new six-week series, INSIDE OUT, matters so much. Because what’s happening on the inside will always shape your destiny.
The Struggle We Don’t Talk About
According to Barna Research, 72% of Christians admit they wrestle with the gap between their public faith and their private spiritual life. That means most of us know how to look strong on the outside while secretly feeling weak on the inside.
Sound familiar? These are the quiet insecurities that haunt us when the lights are off and the room is silent. The problem is not just that these thoughts exist, but that we let them live inside of us unchecked.
Dallas Willard once said: “The tragedy of the human will is that it longs for power without transformation, to reign outwardly while remaining unchanged inwardly.”
Three Steps to Win the Inside Battle
The good news is this: God doesn’t leave us stuck in insecurity. Through His Word and His Spirit, He gives us a way forward.
Unguarded Strength
This last Sunday, we kicked off the series with a message called “Unguarded Strength.” Here’s the big idea:

- Success — “I’m not successful enough.”
- Finances — “I don’t measure up financially.”
- Appearance — “My body doesn’t look the way it should.”
- Career — “I’m falling behind in my career.”
- Acceptance — “People won’t really accept me if they knew the real me.”
- Past — “I’ll never overcome my past mistakes.”
- Comparison — “Everyone else seems to have it figured out but me.”

Three Steps to Win the Inside Battle
The good news is this: God doesn’t leave us stuck in insecurity. Through His Word and His Spirit, He gives us a way forward.
- Confess and Bring It into the Light
- Strongholds grow in the dark but die in the light.
- “Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” (James 5:16)
- N.T. Wright once wrote, “Character is the hidden fabric of our lives. Tear it, and the whole garment eventually unravels.”
- Transform Your Mind with Truth
- If you don’t replace the lie, you’ll replay the stronghold.
- “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)
- What you don’t capture, will eventually capture you. (See 2 Corinthians 10:5)
- Cling to God’s Community, Not Your Own Ability
- You can’t break a spiritual stronghold with human hands.
- “If we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus purifies us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7)
- The Spirit empowers what the flesh enslaves (Galatians 5:16).
Unguarded Strength
This last Sunday, we kicked off the series with a message called “Unguarded Strength.” Here’s the big idea:
? Unguarded strengths become double weakness, but guarded strengths bring multiplied breakthroughs.
That’s what happened to Samson in the book of Judges. His God-given strength was unmatched, but because he didn’t guard his inner life, his gifts took him places his character couldn’t sustain. The same is true for us—your greatest strength can collapse if you don’t protect what’s happening on the inside.Don’t Miss This Series
